the cycle tracker that doesn’t track you back : grounding guidance instead of more distracting screen time ~ period app alternative

Consent matters — and not just when it comes to our sexual health and well-being. Our consent to the use of our data about everything from our social security numbers to the content of our grocery lists is in jeopardy.

In a post-Roe world, prosecutors can subpoena any apps on your phone to release all of the intimate information about your period that you’ve tracked on Flo and other apps. The information can even be used to build a case against you if you live in a state where abortion is a crime.

Even if you live in a state where the right to abortion remains, your cycle tracking and your privacy should go hand in hand. After all, our bodies are sacred. What does it mean that the intimate rhythms of our daily lives, our moods, our bleeds, and our self-care rituals can be sold to the highest bidder?

That’s why I created Cycles Journal. Even as reproductive rights are slashed across the board, this hardcover journal can’t be bought, sold or compromised. The beauty of your inner cycles and rhythms stays right where it belongs: in your hands, and your hands alone.

The convenience of period tracker apps obscures the real risks you take by sharing intimate details of your life with them.

Keep your personal health records and cycle data offline and out of the hands of corporations and government corruption and out of apps with potential data leaks.

You can still keep a close record of your cycle data, BBT fertility, and health on paper!

Here in Cycles Journal, your information is solely in your own hands until you decide and consent to share it with your doctor, therapist, practitioners, and health professionals.

Keep your health & cycle data offline and in the safety of your own hands.

If you’re already tracking your health and cycles offline, congratulations! You’ve chosen the most secure and safe way to learn your body’s language and learn to give it what it needs to thrive.

If you’re not tracking your health and cycles offline yet, consider making the switch today. Our Cyclical Roots community is here to support you in taking back your health data and your privacy.

With you in data sovereignty and cyclical solidarity,

Rachael Amber
