Rachael Amber (they/she) is a queer, neurodivergent, latine artist and intuitive who channels nature-centric art & healing tools to raise awareness and foster connection between all living beings.
Their creative focus comes to life through illustration, design, intuitive arts, writing, social + environmental advocacy, elemental mysticism, decolonization, and mental & menstrual mindfulness. Most of their artwork focuses on depicting the beauty of nature, cyclical living & the energetic interconnection between ourselves, one another & the natural world.
Inspired by an unavoidable intuition, and a deep connection to the complexity of nature , they were guided to follow lunar & seasonal wisdom to find more flow, stability & phasic awareness in both the inner & outer cycles of life.
Now this passion to support others in their healing journeys of embodiment, empowerment, education, self-acceptance & (re-)connection is shared through the annual independent publication of Cycles Journal, the Embodied Ecosystems Tarot & Oracle Deck, and other artistic tools & intuitive offerings.
...It’s really important for me to honor my earthly origins and also recognize that I live on unceded Wabankai lands & grew up on Lenape lands. I know I am an humble guest here and simultaneously an integral part of the larger whole - and so I strive to honor my role.
🌎 My family lineages are rooted from Borikén/Puerto Rico, Italy, Austria-Hungary, and in the past various places on the Iberian peninsula, other parts of Europe & around the Mediterranean sea.
🧑🎨🌿🌕 My creative focus comes to life through illustration, design, intuitive arts, writing, social + environmental advocacy, ecology and mental & menstrual mindfulness.
♾️💫♻️ Most of my artwork focuses on depicting the energetic interconnection between ourselves, one another & the natural world.
🪐🌲📿✍️ I'm also deeply interested in astrology, divination, spiritual + religious intersections, Earth-based lineages, Eco-Dharma, embodiment / somatics, language, lesser-told histories & much more.
💧🟢 My favorite thing is probably a tie between walking on moss and being in or near a waterbody.
🐱 I'm in love with reading, writing, and creating. Also cats, bees, birds, ferns, pine trees, and the moon.
🏡 I was raised in northern NJ and I now reside in Western Maine/Wabanaki Lands in the lakes & mountains region.
🧑🎓 I lived & went to college in Philadelphia at UArts (R.I.P.) for illustration & design with a minor in creative writing, and studies in Zen Buddhism, movement, bookmaking + printmaking.
🤷 I once said I'd never work for myself, but here I am - I couldn't not. (I tried interning at some design places but it didn't feel quite right for me.)
📚 I love words & images combined - I started off making zines before making Cycles Journal.
Since 2018 Rachael has self-published Cycles Journal, helped others with branding & print design, & created editorial for publications like the NYTimes & On Being.
As an eco-mystic artist, part of Rachael's mission is to offer messages & artwork that connect us deeper to ourselves, one another & nature (seen & unseen).
Wholistic integration is an ongoing practice & intention, through guiding & grounding facilitation and goods like Cyclical Mindfulness & of course the annual Cycles Journal, and also freely accessible meditations & printables.
