Cycles Journal is a lunar-centric pattern tracker for whole-self awareness through menstrual, mental & menopausal phases.
100% self-published & community-funded
Cycles Journal supports self-empowerment, embodied mindfulness, and reproductive justice for people with chronic or cyclical struggles (and strengths!) who are tired of seeking the answers outside of themselves.
Grounded guidance for self-advocacy and body literacy ~ through an inclusive, supportive structure.

While unsustainable oppressive systems crumble, our ecosystems and relational cycles continue; and so too will the core integrity of support remain in Cycles Journal.
It's time to release the time-based pressure of keeping up with the capitalist calendar, rather than our own rhythms.

It's time to fully embrace our natural & cosmic cycles as our greatest guides toward self-reflection & collective liberation.
And so… Cycles Journal is entering a new phase of becoming self-paced & undated!

• Start, stop & return anytime, while still guided by sustained structure.
• Encourages phasic / weekly journaling, rather than daily obligation.
• No more “wasted pages” (or at least way fewer, without the guilt).
• No more dated overstock, so we can be truly sustainable.
• Divests from capitalist-colonial structures of productivity and timeliness.

Cycles Journal is your personal health record that doesn’t track you back, and lasts beyond the calendar year.
Because we need a safer space to get offline, out of our heads, and back into our bodies
so that we can notice patterns, changes and possibilities for personal & collective well-being at your own pace.

🌱 ROOT into educational, reference & instructional intro pages ~ so you can learn about cycles & how to best use this tool.
☀️ RECORD what you experience within the daily* tracking overviews ~ so you can keep tabs on your health in an doable way, and notice patterns over time.
🌙 REFLECT on prompts in each week's quarter-moon journaling space ~ so you can note your experience in more detail, and rest your thoughts on the page.
💫 REVIEW your findings on monthly cycle check-ins ~ so you can plan ahead and share findings with your trusted loved ones and practitioners.
✨ REALIZE your progress and options through reference pages at the end ~ so you can remember you're not in this alone and that support exists.
*while this journal allows space for daily tracking, it's up to you how often you use it! We don't see blank space as a problem here~ but a resting point, just like the dark moon.

This is a change for the sake of sustainable continuation. And with change, we often have to compromise and let go as well.
Here are some things that are being released for now:
• The annual featured articles will no longer be included in print.
• The Healing Resource Directory will no longer be in print, but will remain online.
• The traditional calendars will not be included, however the Moon Maps can function in place if you add dates.
I’m contemplating other ways of including community voices through our blog and/or potentially creating a separate periodic magazine instead, and open annual~ calls for submissions.

It’s time to follow our own rhythms rather than rely on the pace of the capitalist clock.
This is what the journal has been helping us do all along~ however, now it will be even more at-your-own-pace: a true subversion of the system needed in these uncertain times.
The moon & sun are our original time-tellers, which I am recentering as our primary guides in this tool, while still acknowledging that the clock and calendar aren’t going away (and do also help many of us function in society), and offering tools to help us work with and alongside it rather than completely against.

Rachael Amber (they/she) is a queer, neurodivergent, latine artist and intuitive who channels nature-centric art & healing tools to raise awareness and foster connection between all living beings.
Their creative focus comes to life through illustration, design, intuitive arts, writing, social + environmental advocacy, decolonization, and mental & menstrual mindfulness.
Most of their artwork focuses on depicting the beauty of nature, cyclical living & the energetic interconnection between ourselves, one another & the natural world.
Inspired by a deep connection to nature & a desire to find peace & awareness within one's emotional & physical realms, they were intuitively guided to follow the moon & nature's wisdom to find more flow, stability & phasic awareness in both the inner & outer cycles of life.
Now this passion to support others in their healing journeys of embodiment, empowerment, education, self-acceptance & (re-)connection is shared through the annual independent publication of Cycles Journal & other artistic tools & offerings.
