There are changes we cannot control, and changes we get to choose and catalyze…

The world is changing… and so is Cycles Journal.

While unsustainable oppressive systems crumble, our ecosystems and relational cycles continue; and so too will the core integrity of support remain in Cycles Journal.

I’m ready to release the time-based pressure of creating and keeping up with an annual dated journal based on capitalist timelines.

I’m ready to fully embrace our natural & cosmic cycles as our greatest guides toward self-reflection & collective liberation.

And so…
Cycles Journal is entering a new phase… becoming self-paced.

After long deliberation, making the journal undated is the only way I can currently sustain keeping the journal alive and true to its essence of being a cyclical guide (and it’s the only sustainable way for the world right now, it seems, too).

After long deliberation, making the journal undated is the only way I can currently sustain keeping the journal alive and true to its essence of being a cyclical guide (and it’s the only sustainable way for the world right now, it seems, too).

I have taken all your feedback into account, and am very grateful. At the end of the day, I need to do what’s necessary as the steward of this creation.

I acknowledge and respect any feeling that may be arising within you. And I am grateful to have your attention as I make this choice, in hopes of continuing together, while respecting your choices as well. Here’s a bit more about the why & how…

It’s time to follow our own rhythms rather than rely on the pace of the capitalist clock.

This is what the journal has been helping us do all along; however, now it will be even more at-your-own-pace: a true subversion of the system needed in these uncertain times.

The moon & sun are our original time-tellers, which I am recentering as our primary guides in this tool, while still acknowledging that the clock and calendar aren’t going away (and do also help many of us function in society), and offering tools to help us work with and alongside it rather than completely against.

I’ve devoted lots of time to designing, testing, and receiving feedback on how this change can maintain the original support and purpose of Cycles Journal.

Here’s what is changing and why it’s supportive:

  • Cycles Journals will still be lunar-centric, so you’re still guided by the moon’s phases and Earth’s seasons as anchors of time-tracking for self-awareness.

  • Monthly overview tracking spreads are essentially staying the same; just fill in your own dates. Same for the check-in pages.

  • Daily journaling pages are becoming → weekly phasic spreads where you’ll still be guided by quarterly moon phase illustrations, and given the options to journal at your own frequency (whether that be once a week or once a day, or something between).

  • Journals will include dated reference key bookmarks per year, so you can easily know what calendar day the new, quarter, & full moons fall on, and fill in the dates between.

  • The journals will maintain existing and new permanent articles in the front of journal, for education and reference. And I’ll be including more detailed how-to-use instructions.

  • Journals will still be printed in limited batches so that cover designs can change periodically once sold out (I’m estimating every 1–2 years we will have new editions + cover art available.

And with change, we often have to compromise and let go as well. Here are some things that are being released for now:

  • The annual featured articles will no longer be included in print.
  • The Healing Resource Directory will no longer be in print, but will remain online.

I’m contemplating other ways of including community voices through our blog and/or potentially creating a separate periodic magazine instead, and open annual~ calls for submissions.

Anything else I did not mention will be staying the same! Such as the quality of print, the materials used, etc.

And, of course, we will still rely 100% on pre-orders to fund the printing & self-publishing to get these out to you before the 2026 ones end!

This is a change for the sake of sustainable continuation.

Why this is something to embrace:

  • Undated = the ability to start / stop / return anytime

  • Encourages a phasic/weekly journaling check-in, rather than daily pressure (unless you want to!)

  • More flexibility in how you show up to use the journal, while still being guided

  • No more (or at least way fewer) “wasted pages” or pressure to fill them all in

  • No more overstock!! Which puts stress on my ability to continue creating healing goods, and wastes precious materials and funds
  • Through this, we are divesting from capitalist, patriarchal time structures that limit us

  • Room for ways we can come together around cycle tracking accountability, rather than relying on the calendar (I have some fun ideas~)

  • & many more reasons! What are yours?

So, what’s next?

Over the days ahead, I’ll share more about the why, how, and when of it all.

I’ll start to unveil my thoughts, process, designs, and the cover art!

Then pre-orders will open June 10th, and I will absolutely need all the support I can get to make this print run happen by the first payment due June 21st!

I’ll also be sharing some sweet deals and special bonuses for those who are on the waitlist and support early. <3

So, all you need to do right now is join the waitlist and await the next emails. 🙂

Until then, I’d love to hear your thoughts in a reply, and if you have any questions so far?

I am truly ever-grateful for your presence alongside the ebbs and flows of my work ~~ the constant of which is our shared purpose in reclaiming our cyclical nature.

Sending you such gratitude and care in these ever-changing times.

With you in the cycles,

Rachael Amber

P.S. Feel free to share this email / waitlist with a friend or community who might wanna hear about it too 💌
